First Presbyterian is active in a variety of missions projects.

Our mission is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world, Christ being the head and the foundation of First Presbyterian Church. In fact, Presbyterians originally came to the Bradley County area during the early 1800's in order to minister to the Cherokee Indians.

We believe a Christian may witness for Christ through one's manner of life and through one's words. Therefore, our goal as a church is to be doers of the Word of God, having an inward growth of God's Holy Spirit and an outward reach of God's Holy Spirit to those in need.

In addition to our participation in the many ministries sponsored by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A), we reach out by volunteering our time, talents and tithing to support other missions, including:

African Hunger Relief

Bachman Academy

Boy Scouts of America

Habitat for Humanity

Rivers of the World

Sertoma Club's Speech and Hearing Clinic

Sunset Gap

The John Knox Center

The Mullins Family in Brazil

From everyone who has been given much, much
more will be demanded; and from the one who has
been entrusted with much, much more will be asked
